The Society of Professional Journalists Association and Asian American Journalists Association are presenting a Journalism Career Consultation Workshop.
It’s not free. It’s $5 for SPJ/AAJA members and $10 for nonmembers.
But it sounds interesting. There will be a panel consisting of
- Bill Dorman, News Director for Hawaii Public Radio
- Jaymes Song, Editor, Associated Press Honolulu
- Steven Petranik, Editor, Hawaii Business Magazine
After the panel, attendees will be able to meet for 15-minute consultations with journalism professionals in television, print, radio, online and business. Consultations may be done one on one or in groups depending on participation. This workshop is geared for all career levels from professionals to freelancers and students. This is your chance to ask any questions you have about what to do to take your career to the next step in journalism, how to improve your chances of employment, what it takes to work in the industry, or whatever you would like to know.
- Monday, Sept 19, 2011, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
- Atherton Studio at Hawaii Public Radio at 738 Kaheka Street
- Light refreshments
- RSVP with payment by Friday, Sept. 19 by clicking here.
